The White Wagtail । সাদা খঞ্জন ।

ছোট ও ছিপছিপে পাখি সাদা খঞ্জনের (White Wagtail) দেখা মেলে খোলা মাঠ, নদীর পাড়, জলাশয়ের ধারে কিংবা সৈকতে। হাঁটার সময় পাখিটি বারবার লম্বা লেজ নাড়ে—এটাই এর সবচেয়ে পরিচিত বৈশিষ্ট্য।
এরা মূলত পোকামাকড় খায় এবং ভেজা মাটি বা পানির কাছাকাছি খাবার খুঁজে বেড়ায়। পরিচিত পরিযায়ী সাদ খঞ্জন শীতকালে ইউরোপ ও মধ্য এশিয়া থেকে বাংলাদেশসহ দক্ষিণ এশিয়ায় আসে। আমি দেখা পেয়েছিলাম কক্সবাজারে।

A white wagtail, lightly built and alert, pauses mid-step on the wet ground. Its soft grey back, crisp white face, and long black-and-white tail give it a clean, understated elegance. Ever watchful, it seems ready to flick its tail and move on, a quiet companion of open paths and river edges.
