How many more wars must be fought before the world realizes that peace cannot be achieved by killing? How many more young lives must be lost before we understand the true cost of war?
Rows upon rows of white crosses stretch across the green fields of Manila American Cemetery. Beneath each cross rests a life. An unfinished dream. Somewhere, a family waited for their son to return home. He never did.
The war is over. The guns have fallen silent. Yet, somewhere in the world, wars are still raging. New graves are being dug. People are dying. And humanity keeps returning to the same old questions.
Standing in this cemetery, Bob Dylan’s haunting question echoes again and again—
“How many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?”
Perhaps the answer is still blowin’ in the wind.
